Nissan GTR how to secure the undertray

IF YOU’VE SCRAPED YOUR UNDERTRAY OR SPLITTER (READ!)

We’ve all scraped, and I know it’s unavoidable sometimes…Sh*t happens. However, do pay more attention after this hopefully, and do check ups, every now and then, to avoid losing your splitter at high speeds (BIG DAMAGES).

While removing my GT-Rs’ undertray to install the new splitter, we noticed many of those clips/rivets DESTROYED, due to scrapes over time. I’ve barely had any scrapes, just minor ones going over ramps etc.. and IM NOT LOWERED.. just be safe out there!!

CARBON FIBER SCRATCH REPAIR

Sand the scratched area with grit sand paper, 800 or 1000 depending how deep.

Apply some Polishing Compound using an applicator pad or a microfiber towel until all the visible markings from the sand paper are gone. I use Turtle Wax Rubbing Compound.

Apply paint cleaner, like Meguiar’s Ultimate Compound, using a microfiber tower. Wipe, wash and dry the area.

Apply pre-waxing glaze, Meguiar’s Ultimate Polish, using a microfiber tower. Wipe, wash and dry the area.

Finally, apply a thin coat of wax cleaner. Make sure it’s Carnauba, not other synthetic ones. I use Turtle Wax Carnauba Liquid Cleaner Wax. Wait until the wax sets and becomes matte. Using a clean microfiber towel, wipe in circular motion until all residue is removed.
